Communications

We have been trying to keep everyone updated with all of the events that are going on at Maize Manor UMC. The fact of the matter is that our church is doing quite a bit. Our memo is only one way of getting information on events at church. Our weekly bulletin gives us a look at the week’s events. Our calendar that is posted in the Narthex has events for the next two weeks so that you can get a quick look at what is coming up on your way into or out of the sanctuary. Our website (www.maizemanorumc.org) is updated frequently. It not only has our church’s basic information (i.e. worship times, address, phone numbers, email addresses etc.) but also has information on what committees are doing and a look at the different organizations activities and contacts. It even has links to other websites for devotionals, Christian retreats, and the United Methodist Church home page. If you have questions about any of these communication tools, or have suggestions on what you would like to see, contact Bob Castle. Keep up on what is going on in our busy church!

Also, we will be offering the Maize Manor Memo in email format.  If you would like to start receiving the memo in an email and not in paper format, please email Bob at BobCastle@maizemanorumc.org and let him know.

Finance News:

- The church would like to say "Thank you" to those who continue to support the Recycling program. That program is contributing an average of $60 - $80 a month to the general fund. For those of you that would like to start participating in this program the process is pretty simple. Just bring your PAPER products to the church, and put them in the Recycling bin located in the Northwest corner of the church parking lot. (Please only place paper products in the bin, the recycling company also mentioned that they DO NOT want cardboard products) Thanks again for your support of this.

- If you valuable items (a definition of valuable would be items that might be able to sell on the internet or at a garage sale for over $30) that you would like to donate for the benefit of the church's general fund please see Ronnie Grimes (286-9666) for more information on how to “donate” that item to the church’s general fund. The church has a "Sold it on Ebay" account that we may be able sell those items on.

- Did you know that the church spends an average of $2149.69 on Utilities a month? The finance committee has decided in response to the successful 2005 "Adopt a lawn program" that the 2006 program will be "Adopt the Utilities". This is an opportunity for those of you that are looking to give extra support to the church above and beyond their normal tithing. You may select any dollar amount you would like to give toward the monthly total of $2149.69 a month. Please just label the your contribution envelope with "Adopt the Utilities". Thanks, once again, for your support of the Church.
